RIO DE JANEIRO ? In headlines and a story Dec. 20 about clothing retailer Zara, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the Spanish company had agreed to pay a fine after a Brazilian government probe found slavery-like conditions at one of its suppliers. Brazilian officials said they agreed to accept a $1.8 million "social investment" from Zara. The company called it a settlement rather than a fine.
