Our role will focus on identifying new consulting opportunities internally, as well as, leveraging and expanding existing relationships and projects. As a Director within our organization you will have the opportunity to perform in a sales and Engagement Manager/Delivery capacity performing the following types of activities:
Business Development (50 - 75% Time Allocation):
- Define the business development strategy for a subset of the practice
- Own and manage sales accounts, leads, pursuits, and proposals
- Identify and own the development of new consulting solutions that will be brought to market
- Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
- Identify opportunities for sales and business development collaboration with other OptumInsight business segments and sales members
Program Oversight (25 - 50% Time Allocation):
- Perform as an Engagement Manager driving the vision and planning for large and small scale projects/programs.
- Partner with the Delivery team on the execution of the sold programs/projects.
- At times perform with direct responsibility the oversight of large and small scale program execution working to secure and expand the project/program. Large scale programs are defined as high cost, high complexity and/or high risk.
- Perform as the liaison between the client and delivery team for any escalation issues, ensuring project is delivered on-time and within budget
- Facilitate development of business segment and enterprise level planning and program objective setting
- Participate in senior level program funding and prioritization decision processes
- Provide strategic input to the development of program roadmap and timelines
- Create a team oriented work climate that enables professional development and encourages creative solutions and strategies
- Support the management of resources within programs
- Support program communication plan and execution
- Require that quality assurance methods are implemented within the program
- Provide status updates and review of programs to senior leadership
- Provide coaching and mentoring of project team with the goal of developing and retaining talent within the organization
- Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree in computer or business related field preferred
- 10 years enterprise project/program management experience
- 10 years experience leading large-scale consulting engagements or large internal healthcare projects/programs
- 10 years healthcare background with extensive healthcare sales, operations knowledge and experience including claims, service, network, eligibility, etc.
- Prior experience with UnitedHealth Group
- 10 years working in a Big 5 or large consulting organization is preferred
- Experience developing new business and identifying add-on work
- Experience writing and executing business plans for new consulting solutions
- Experience leading a team of direct reports
- Experience managing sales and delivery operations and processes
- Ability to travel up to 80%
- Candidates located near Minneapolis, MN or Hartford, CT are preferred
